Keyword Density Checker

Analyze keyword density, total word count, and top word frequencies in your text.

Run tool

This online keyword density checker calculates the exact proportion of words and phrases across your text. When you paste your article, product description, or copy into the editor, the tool processes the content by converting letters to lowercase and isolating individual words across standard word boundaries. If you specify a target keyword or multi-word phrase, the tool trims extra whitespace, converts the search terms to lowercase, and counts non-overlapping whole-word matches throughout the body copy. It then determines keyword density by dividing total keyword occurrences by total word count, expressing the final ratio as a percentage rounded to two decimal places. In addition to calculating specific keyword density, the tool identifies up to ten most frequently occurring words in descending order alongside their raw occurrence counts. If you leave the fields blank or submit empty text, the tool reports zero words, zero matches, and zero percent density.

Instructions

  1. Paste or type your text content into the Text field.
  2. Enter the target word or phrase you want to analyze in the Keyword field.
  3. Run the analysis to view total word count, keyword frequency, and density percentage.
  4. Review the top frequent words list to evaluate overall vocabulary distribution.

Examples

  • Analyzing a 200-word product description for the keyword 'running shoes' shows 4 occurrences, resulting in a keyword density of 2.00%.
  • Pasting an article excerpt without entering a keyword returns total word count and a list of the ten most frequent words in descending order.

FAQ

How is keyword density calculated?

Keyword density is calculated by dividing the number of times your keyword phrase appears by the total word count, then multiplying by 100 to produce a percentage rounded to two decimal places.

Does the checker distinguish between uppercase and lowercase letters?

No. The tool converts both your source text and the target keyword to lowercase, ensuring matches are case-insensitive.

Can I check multi-word phrases?

Yes. When you enter a multi-word phrase in the Keyword field, the tool matches the exact sequence of words across word boundaries.

What happens if I do not enter a keyword?

If you leave the Keyword field empty, the tool still counts the total words in your text and displays the top ten most frequent words.
